I feel like that color combination does work beautifully on him (which I was surprised about because I actually hated that shade of red in Ashley’s options), but the cut and the waistcoat just make it look far too heavy in the middle.
It’s not at all flattering past the shoulders, IMO.
yeah, where the vest underneath and the lapels of the jacket meet at the same point on his torso definitely makes him look wider in the middle. and the way those horizontal pockets sort of accentuate the “girth” with their placement and the satin trim aren’t helping either.
that being said, if you crop the photos to not include those bits, he does look quite nice.
